Medical Front Desk Receptionist- Part-Time

Job description:
Metro Speech Therapy (now called Metro Therapy Center) is a growing private Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy practice. We are looking for a friendly and professional Medical Front Desk Receptionist to support our therapists, assist our patients with scheduling and questions they may have, organize our medical facility’s functions, and support day-to-day operations. This position will include performing administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service for our patients.
Front Desk Medical Receptionist position requires multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and handling sensitive information confidentially. If you are able to combine exceptional communication skills with an ability to perform ‘behind the scenes’ tasks, we would like to meet you.
Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our medical facility’s smooth operation by accurately completing administrative tasks in a timely manner.
***Part-Time Position:  Monday-Thursday (3:00-7:00pm); Friday (1:00-6:00pm)
Medical Front Desk Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves patients by greeting and assisting them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Anticipating and assisting patient concerns, answering patient questions, and maintaining the reception area.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
